From the 18th century, the proximity of the Vidourle River, as well as the many flocks of sheep, favoured the setting up of tanneries. For several decades, this activity prospered thanks to the production of wool and leather.
Magnanerie: place where you produce silk. The Silk Museum offers visitors an insight into this activity's great technical and cultural wealth. It was a big cottage industry in these parts.
